Ladies Section

A message from Alison Fitzpatrick

I have the honour and privilege of captaining the Ladies section of Dudsbury Golf Club which must be one of the most vibrant, thriving and well-supported clubs in the surrounding area.

To any prospective new lady members, I can promise a warm welcome and a programme packed with golfing and social events.

What do we have to offer?

The ladies at Dudsbury have an active timetable. We play competitions on Tuesday and Sunday mornings when we have allocated tee times. There are many ladies who meet on other days for an unofficial “roll up”, you can always find some ladies keen to play. We have reciprocal arrangements with several other golf clubs, tee times for these can be arranged by our golf reception staff.

The external competitions we play in include: Dorset Interclub, Beales, Daily Mail foursomes, the New Forest and Wellow rallies and the Romsey team tournament. Last year we were runners up the Dorset Interclub competition, narrowly beaten in the final. Our ladies also enter county competitions, we make sure all our ladies are aware of these and have a chance to enter them.

The Ladies section organises a Ladies Open Bowmaker competition in June, a Senior Mixed Open in July and a very popular Ladies Coffee morning in September. During the year we hold mixed social events, mixed friendlies against nearby clubs and many ladies friendly matches giving our members a chance to play other courses.
