Weddings

My husband and I got married at a local venue in July 2017 but needed somewhere to hold our evening reception. After viewing a couple of unsuitable venues we decided to pop in to Dudsbury Golf Club and loved it straight away, especially for the convenience of Dudsbury having hotel rooms for our Wedding Guests.

Kate, our Wedding Coordinator, was very reliable and professional throughout the whole planning process as well as on the day. She was always on hand to answer my many questions or to have a meeting with me to discuss any additional information. She listened to all of my requirements and to how I wanted the room decorated on the day, and Kate and her team couldn’t have done a better job.

Our reception was held in Bentleys Restaurant, which we loved due to the amount of space for our guests and the balcony overlooking the stunning Golf Course. It was the perfect choice of venue for us, we definitely made the right decision. Thank you to Kate and her Team for all of their help, we had the best day!

I wanted to just let you know how pleased we were with the wedding held at Dudsbury on Saturday.

We made the best of it by having a round of golf the day before with all the golfers in the wedding party, followed by an evening meal with the family and stay in the hotel.

The day of the wedding started well with breakfast for us that had stayed the night, we were well looked after by Taylor (whom I personally think is your best Barman) and a lady I know but don’t remember her name, they could not have treated us better and as always the breakfast was perfect.

I was first into the bar at 12oclock because I wanted to greet everybody as they arrived to be sure everything was in place and again the bar service was as good as it gets.

Once the guests all began to arrive Kate and her team took control, they are a great team which are obviously well rehearsed and Kate was flawless with her control, her timing was perfect with all that was done from start to finish. I mentioned earlier I made sure I was first to the bar to meet guests as I wanted to be sure they had what they need and knew what was going on, I quickly learned that I had no need to be the least bit concerned as Kate had it all sorted.

The drinks and canapés served in the Brabant suite after the service could not have been better, the staff again were 100% and all the guests by now were beginning to comment, saying how wonderful they all thought it was.

We were then moved back to Bentley’s, which had been transformed now for the wedding guests to dine and it looked amazing.

Again everybody commented on the meals they were served, most people saying they’d not had such beautiful food at a wedding before, the food was perfect as Sean’s always is, pipping hot, plenty of staff to get it served on time, unhurried! Kate had an assistant for this who again I’ve seen her at Dudsbury before but don’t know her name, again she was flawless.

Overall the food was as perfect as it gets, served with perfect timing by very polite staff with pleasant attitudes.

We retuned then to the Brabant suite whilst Bentley’s was again transformed for the evening reception.

Again the evening reception was terrific, the evening food and bar staff all worked well together which made it a very pleasant evening.

At no point throughout the day did we want for anything, it was all thought of and provided, at no point, day or evening was there tables swimming in empty glasses or empty plates, it was all cleared and kept tidy throughout the whole day.

Then after the second night in the hotel all the guests that stayed met for breakfast together in the Brabant Suite, this again was absolutely perfect and rounded the whole weekend off.

So after all that, I would like to give my sincere thanks to you Paul, Kate and all your staff for providing our family with a perfect wedding, the bride and groom could not be more pleased and the guests haven’t stopped talking about it.

We got married on 31st March 2018.  It was a cold day, but at least it wasn’t raining!  We did manage to get some photos taken outside the venue.  The bridesmaids were wearing quite flimsy dresses and were definitely feeling the cold.  Kate noticed this and came rushing out with wraps for the bridesmaids to keep them warm while they were waiting.  This was typical of the thoughtfulness and attention to detail we received from Kate and her team before and on our wedding day.

From our first visit to the Dudsbury Golf Club and Spa, we were impressed by the venue and the helpful staff.  After attending a wedding fare, we decided to book our wedding here.   We had regular contact and several meetings with Kate, who was always helpful and friendly.  Nothing was too much trouble and her calm and efficient manner definitely gave us confidence that everything would happen on the day exactly as Kate said it would.  We had all the things we wanted included in the day.  Kate was brilliant at suggesting things to help us.

On the actual wedding day, Kate and her team were on hand to make sure everything ran smoothly, which it did.  The whole day flowed beautifully and everything ran on time.  The ceremony was lovely, the room looked beautiful!  The photos and pre dinner drinks were relaxed and there was plenty of drinks and nibbles to keep our guests going until we sat down for the wedding breakfast.

All of our guests commented on how nice their dinner was and how much they enjoyed it.  The food was well cooked and presented.  It came out in a timely and very efficient way.  All of the waiting staff were friendly and helpful.  We had use of the small room attached to the upstairs restaurant, which Kate suggested we set up for our younger guests.  She provided a TV and DVD player and we bought bits in to keep the younger guests amused. This space was brilliant as the kids had lots of fun playing when they had finished eating and the adults got to enjoy their meal in peace!

As the day became evening, again the staff were on hand to make the change seem effortless.  The evening buffet was huge and well presented.  Lots of our guests stayed overnight and everyone was very pleased with their accommodation.

Kate and Simone were on hand all day to keep an eye on everything and the there isn’t anything we would change about our day, apart from perhaps making the weather a little warmer!

We would highly recommend the Dudsbury Golf Club and Spa to anyone who is looking for a lovely venue, that is very reasonably priced, for their wedding or any other celebration.
